What exactly is Power BI?

Power BI is a set of tools, applications, and software that enables you to perform the following:

1. It allows you to access your data quickly and easily.

2. It offers you means to display the data to create insights from it.

3. It also gives you tools to communicate with the whole company, so you can share whatever reports or data you gather with others.

Let's speak about the four critical components of Power BI that make it so strong

The first component I'd want to discuss is Power BI for the desktop. Power BI for Desktops is a free application that you may download and install. Power BI is a tool that business users and analysts use to generate Power BI reports to extract insights from your data and perform data exploration and analysis.

After you've generated your Power BI reports, you'll undoubtedly want to share them with your colleagues, right? or with your business partners or associates. So, you export your Power BI desktop reports and post them to Power BI online. Power BI online, commonly known as Power BI service, is the cloud-based version of Power BI.

If your company is not permitted to utilize cloud services, don't panic. There is a Power BI report server where you may publish your reports, and everything is contained within your firewalls and stays on your intranet.

So, if you have access to cloud services, use the Power BI service; otherwise, you may see the reports & share them with your colleagues via the Power BI report server.

If you have published your report to the Power BI service, you may now see it on any device. They are available on the iOS, Android, and Windows platforms. On iPhones and iPads.

All those applications are free to download from their respective app stores, allowing you to view your reports from anywhere, at any time.

Coming to the last version of Power BI is Power BI for developers, which allows you to customize Power BI to meet your unique requirements. One more Power BI for developers’ examples includes: Embedding Power BI report in intranet, so you can take your Power BI reports and move them somewhere else outside of the Power BI system.

Another thing you can do is build custom graphics. If your organization has specific visuals that they like, you can make them yourself. And another thing you can do is create custom connectors, so if you have data sources that do not currently have a connector, you can write your own. Create Compelling Reports & Dashboards with Microsoft Power BI training
